DESCRIPTION
Georgia is a state in Southern USA where it borders with South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida plus it has a coast on the Atlantic Ocean. The state is ranked only 24th in land area yet it has a high population at around 9.7 million people. Georgia has many great destinations to offer travelers, including scenic vistas and vibrant cities. Atlanta is popular with tourists. This is the capital and largest city in the state, featuring the largest aquarium in the world, Coca-Cola Headquarters, and the gold-domed State Capitol Building. Other popular city destinations include Augusta, famous for golf, and Savannah, the oldest city in the state which features a huge historic district. The smaller resort town of Blue Ridge is the gateway to the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains and onto the Appalachian Trail, while in the south of the state is an attraction where travelers can get to see a wide range of wildlife on the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. With its southern location, tourists in Georgia will experience a humid subtropical climate where summers are hot and humid, and winters are mild.
