DESCRIPTION

Of the three America’s; north, south, and Central America; South America is the only one that has part of the continent in the southern hemisphere. South America is surrounded by the South Atlantic Ocean, South Pacific Ocean, and the Caribbean. South America is noted for its many great geographic attributes such as: the world’s largest waterfall-Angel Falls, the amazing beaches of Northern Brazil, it’s remote islands, the second highest mountain range- the Andes, and world’s biggest rainforest and second longest river- the Amazon. The continent of South America consists of 12 countries and 382 million residents. The largest country by far is Brazil, which holds 50% of the South American population. Spanish and Portuguese are the two most spoken languages in South America.
