Asia is the largest continent in the world by both land mass as well as by population. Out of the world’s 6.6 billion people, Asia is home to over 4 billion of them, equating to more than 60% of the world’s population. Asia consists of 47 countries, while Russia and China are the largest. Russia is so massive, that it actually is in both Europe and Asia, but the majority of it, 80% is in Asia. While Asia is geographically gigantic in size, the diversification of travel options, culture, and country attributes are just as large. A few of the most well known countries in Asia are: Japan, China, Mongolia, Nepal, Vietnam, Israel, Jordon, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Russia, and India. Asia’s lowest point is the Dead Sea located in Israel and Jordan at 1,312 feet below sea level, the highest point is Mount Everest at 29,028 feet, the longest river is the Yangtze, which runs 3,915 miles and is in China, and the largest lake in Asia is the Caspian Sea. Asia is located with Europe to the west, the Arctic Ocean to the North, the Red Sea to the southwest, the Indian Ocean to the south, the Pacific Ocean to the east, and Australia to the southeast. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the 3rd largest in the world, after The United States and Europe. One of the leading industries is manufacturing, which is most prevalent in the east and southeast regions. Japan has the largest economy in Asia and the second largest in the world. Most people, who have had the opportunity to travel to Asia, agree there is no other place in the world that is anything like it.
