Bosnia is a Balkan Country located in Southern Europe, which shares borders with Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro. The capital of Bosnia is Sarajevo. Bosnia's currency is the Convertible Mark (BAM). The population in Bosnia as of July 2007 was 4.5 million. Popular cities in Bosnia are: Jajce, Mostar, Banja Luke, and Fojnica. Bosnia is a very poor country. The climate in Bosnia consists of hot summers and cold winters. At points of high elevation, short, cool summers; and long severe winters are the norm; and around the coastlines, mild rainy winters. Bosnia is known to have devastating earthquakes, many of which occur in the mountains and valleys. The national language in Bosnia is Bosnian, but most residents speak English fluently. Credit cards are not widely accepted, so it is suggested that one should be prepared with alternative payment methods.
