DESCRIPTION
Although the UK is a small country
there are an incredible number of attractions for travelers to enjoy
here. The United Kingdom is in fact the 6th most visited
country in the world, attracting over 30 million visitors per year.
The UK is an island in Western Europe and consists of four nations:
England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Although these destinations
all have their own unique identities they are linked by the same currency,
the Pound, and the same language, English. The population for the whole of the
UK is around 61 million, and being such a small country this means the
population density is high. However, the United Kingdom still retains
much of its beautiful scenic countryside and offers tourists a range
of great destinations. London, the capital city, is the most popular
place to visit, though other cities include Edinburgh, Stratford-Upon-Avon
and Oxford. History is abundant in the UK, and places like Stonehenge
are always popular. Many travelers are attracted to the quaint English
villages and areas of great scenic beauty. The climate here is temperate
and though renowned for being wet, temperatures are mild, making this
a good location to visit any time of the year.
