DESCRIPTION
California is the third largest state
in the United States though it has the highest population with over
36.7 million people living here. Located on the west coast, the state
fronts the Pacific Ocean with Oregon to the north, Nevada to the east,
Arizona to the south east and Mexico to the south. Being such a large state, and with
its coastal location, California has so many great attractions to offer
tourists. Travelers can enjoy scenic beauty, bustling cities, popular
beaches and more. The capital city is Sacramento though in terms of
the most popular destinations, cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco
and San Diego win out. Tourists can visit the desert one day and the
ski slopes the next – Lake Tahoe is one of the most popular ski destinations
in the USA. California also has great scenic beauty too. The Sierra
Nevada has lush forests, waterfalls and mountains where travelers will
find the popular Yosemite National Park. Not too far from here is Sequoia
and Kings Canyon National Park where you can see the world’s largest
trees. The climate in California varies from end to end – the south
stays warm all year round, while further north it’s wetter and cooler
outside of summer.
