DESCRIPTION
Idaho is one of the Rocky Mountains
states and is located in the north west of the United States. It’s
the 14th largest state though it’s ranked 39th
in terms of population at around 1.5 million people. Six other states
surround Idaho including Washington, Oregon and Wyoming plus the state
also shares a border with Canada to the north. Idaho contains part of one of the most
visited national parks in the USA, Yellowstone National Park. Most of
Yellowstone is in neighboring Wyoming, but destinations like Old Faithful,
Mammoth Hot Springs and Petrified Forest are all within easy reach.
Idaho also attracts travelers with a variety of other scenic locations
too, such as its National Forests where tourists can camp and hike in
relaxing surrounds. One of the most popular scenic destinations is Craters
of the Moon National Monument. The state capital and largest city is
Boise. Travelers will find a range of interesting and popular attractions
here such as the State Capitol Building, Zoo Boise and the Old Idaho
State Penitentiary! The state has a varied climate with snowy and cold
winters, and hot summers.
