DESCRIPTION

The Kingdom of Bahrain is a small island nation in the Middle East. It is situated in the Persian Gulf with Qatar to its south and Saudi Arabia to its west and is an Arab country whose official languages are Arabic and English. This is a very small nation, ranked 189th in the world for land area and 154th for population with just over a million people. The currency is the Bahraini dinar. Although small, Bahrain is a popular tourist destination and offers a variety of attractions. It’s an Arab and Muslim country though not as strict as its neighbors and this has helped boost its popularity! The capital and largest city is Manama where most visited attractions include the Pearl Monument and the Al Fateh Mosque. Manama Souq is very popular for its authentic shopping experience and in the evenings the city has a vibrant nightlife, and even features a Hard Rock Café and British themed pubs! For travelers interested in the country’s ancient history the most visited attraction is Qal’at al-Bahrain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bahrain’s location means travelers will find hot and humid weather here with highs in July of 38C.
