DESCRIPTION

The Middle Eastern country of Kuwait is situated on the Persian Gulf and borders with Iraq and Saudi Arabia. This is only a small country, ranked 157th in terms of land area, and with a population of about 3.5 million people. Arabic is the official language though English is also quite widely understood. The Kuwaiti Dinar is the currency. Best known for its oil and deserts, travelers will find that Kuwait is far more cosmopolitan than might be expected. The largest and capital city, Kuwait City, is the most visited destination in the country, offering tourists a variety of interesting architecture, entertainment, dining and more. The most visited attraction is the Kuwait Towers – three futuristic looking towers which were built in 1979. A large observation deck and a revolving restaurant are popular here. Seif Palace and also the National Museum are other popular attractions. Travelers who prefer relaxing on a beach can also do that here. There are many beachside hotels and resorts, and water sports are highly popular, including powerboating, scuba diving and sailing. This location is renowned for being hot and dry, and summer temperatures often reach 113F (the mid 40’s C). Summer lasts from May to September while winters are short and cooler.
