DESCRIPTION
What draws visitors to Palm Beach County, Florida are the 40 miles of beaches that are available for sun worshiping and water sports. However, if you tire of the beach or want to escape the hot sun there are plenty of other tourist activities in West Palm Beach to keep you occupied. There’s a drive-thru zoo called Lion Country Safari, where the traffic is because of legitimate rubbernecking to see the wildlife. Henry Flagler was an oil tycoon who built his estate here, and the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum is now on the site that he purchased for his bride. Snorkelers are particularly fond of Breakers Reef, which is located behind the Breakers Hotel, a site to see on its own. West Palm Beach is also a good place to base yourself if you want to watch a shuttle launch from Cape Kennedy, though you’ll have to check with NASA for the schedule.
