DESCRIPTION

Bergen, Norway is probably best known for its weather – you’ll need your umbrella and raincoat most of the time. The rain doesn’t damper tourist plans, however, as they continue to visit this Norwegian gem. There are plenty of museums to explore for a look into Bergen’s past, and another glimpse can be seen in the historic wooden houses in the Old Bergen area. The harbor area, known as the Bryggen, is the gateway to the fjords. The city has a great arts culture, having spawned several musicians, such as composer Edvard Grieg – visitors can see is statue in City Park. You’ll find the most sunshine in May, and that’s when the town puts on its Bergen International Festival with over 100 music and performing arts events.
