DESCRIPTION

Hannover, Germany was nearly bombed off the map during World War II, but it has since rebuilt and become a thriving city full of culture and charm. One popular attraction in the city is the Marktkirche, a 14th century church, located near the old town, or Altstadt. It is here that visitors can also explore the shops and restaurants that now occupy the old buildings that were relocated here after they survived the war’s destruction. Hannover’s signature destination is the Herrenhausen Gardens, one of the best example of Baroque gardens in the world. Highlights are the world’s only remaining Baroque hedge theater and a fountain that shoots water 200 feet into the air.
