DESCRIPTION

Sallbach, Austria is a ski-resort town with a small-village feel. Linked by lifts to the neighboring Hinterglemm, it’s one of the country’s largest ski areas, favored by skiers and snowboarders alike. There is plenty of the powdery stuff during the ski season of December to March – sometimes into April, since the resort can create snow when it starts to warm up. Most of the runs are geared for those with intermediate skills, but there are some off-trail areas to keep the experts occupied. Sallbach has half-pipes available for snowboarders, and Hinterglemm dedicates a whole park to the snowboarders. The town has a quaint charm to explore after skiing, but there’s also an active après-ski culture as well.
