DESCRIPTION

Val Thorens, France lays claim to being the highest ski resort in the Alps, where some of the best skiing and snowboarding takes place. Snow falls late into the season, since the resort faces north, but November to May is when the best power prevails. Beginners can find lessons, and intermediate and expert skiers will find runs that cater to all skill levels. The modern lifts get you where you need to go quickly, and there is also a 150-passenger cable car to take skiers between Val Thorens and other parts of the Three Valleys area (Les Trois Vallées.) The city was purposely built as a resort, so there are plenty of restaurants and bars to make use of when you get hungry or thirsty after a long day of hitting the slopes.
