DESCRIPTION
Arizona is a state located in the southwest
United States where it borders with New Mexico, Utah, Nevada and California
and touches Colorado in one corner, while to the south is Mexico. This
is the 6th largest state, with the 14th highest
population at around 6.5 million. One of the state’s nicknames is
the Grand Canyon State and of course the Grand Canyon is the most visited
attraction by tourists in Arizona. Along with the spectacular and scenic
Grand Canyon, Arizona is best known for its deserts, national forests,
monuments and parks as well as some popular cities. Destinations include
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Lake Mead and Lake Powell, and
Monument Valley with its famous and scenic American West landscape.
The capital and largest city of Arizona is Phoenix, located in the center
of the state. Other cities travelers like to visit include Tucson, Scottsdale
and Flagstaff. Being located in the desert means Arizona has hot summers
and mild winters, making this a popular location all year round.
