DESCRIPTION

Paris, France is one of the most-visited tourist cities in the world – and also thought of as one of the romantic. It’s dubbed the “City of Lights” because when the sun goes down, it sparkles like gem. The best way to get an overview of the city’s layout is on a boat trip down the Seine, which allows for easy jump on, jump off at some of the major sites. Tourists could easily spend a week or more just going through museums, and it’s important to save money and time by purchasing a museum pass. Two of the most popular museums are the Louvre – where the Mona Lisa is (it’s smaller than you’d expect) and the Musée d'Orsay – full of impressionist art from Monet and Manet and Seurat and more. The most recognizable landmark in the world is located here – the Eiffel Tower. To reach the top, you’ll need to wait in line, so get there early, or go later and see the sunset. You’ll also want to climb up the winding steps of the Arc de Triomphe for a great view down the Champs-Elysées, or head to the top of the steps at the Sacré Coeur, a church that sits at the city’s highest point and gives great views over Paris. No tourist will want to miss a tour of Notre Dame Cathedral. The Metro system makes it easy to navigate the city when your feet get tired of walking. Great side trips include the gardens at Versailles, or a visit to Chartres Cathedral, one of the best examples of Gothic Architecture.
