Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has today recovered from the war that ravaged the area in the 1990s. Now, it’s a shining example of a multi-cultural melting pot, with Croatians, Bosnians and Serves now blending their lifestyles. Visitors can experience the contrast when the Muslim call to prayer reverberates through the city as they are standing in an Orthodox church. The most popular attraction in the city is the Latin Bridge, which saw the assassination of the Austrian Archduke Ferdinand and is wife in 1914. This was the occasion that escalated the First World War.
