The Jamaican people have a saying – “no worries, mon” – which you’ll also be chanting after a stay on this charming Caribbean island. Kingston is the capital of the island, and this philosophy reigns here. It may take you a day or so to adjust to island time, which finds people moving slowly and taking time to smell the roses – or in this case, the faint scent of ganja – but once you adjust you’ll think the rest of the world has got it all wrong. Most visitors come to Jamaica to enjoy the beaches, which abound here. There are more secluded sands for the romantics, while party-hardy travelers can find plenty of places to drink some rum and dance to the reggae music. The large number of clubs found here also offer up reggae music and a party atmosphere. There is a Bob Marley museum here for the true fans, where they can see memorabilia from the musician’s life.
